Signs Of Termite Activity
Termite hide in mud tubes and expansion joints, which is why activity can stay invisible long after a slab is poured in New Orlean.
Common indicators that termites have entered your home include:
- Spotting pencil-width mud tubes climbing foundation walls, piers, or slab edges where subterranean termites travel between the soil and wood.
- Finding discarded swarm wings on interior windowsills, in garage corners, or near exterior doors after a fall termite swarm.
- Noticing soft, blistered, or hollow-sounding trim around baseboards, window frames, or door casings where termites have fed beneath the surface.
- Discovering small piles of frass that resemble coarse sawdust beneath drywood termite kick-out holes on sills, attic framing, or wood trim.
- Hearing faint tapping or papery rustling inside walls or wood members when a disturbed termite colony is active behind the surface.
For termite pretreatment, LaJaunie’s Pest Control applies a soil treatment before the foundation is poured to create a horizontal chemical barrier, using blue dye so the application can be verified during inspection, and they also provide same-day pretreatments.
Complete protection program
Your home is protected from subterranean termites by a pre-treatment barrier at the foundation. The termite pre-treatment treats soil at footings and perimeter, intercepting workers and halting colony foraging. Termite coverage runs under slabs and around sill plates, marked with blue dye for inspection.
You keep your termite coverage active after your builder’s pretreatment, without paying for another first treatment. Annual termite renewal includes a termite-free guarantee and can bundle for $74/month.
Long-term termite defense for your new home
-
How we work
Our termite pretreatment process begins with a thorough inspection of the new construction site, which is crucial during the warm, damp Louisiana fall when termites are most active.
Next, our local pest experts apply a powerful liquid treatment directly to the soil to create a continuous protective barrier; for example, we include a special blue dye so building inspectors can verify a complete application has been made for effective pest removal.
Finally, this initial extermination provides the foundation for our ongoing pest management, allowing us to partner with you, the new homeowner, to ensure your home remains protected with our termite-free guarantee for years to come.

Same-Day Service
We know how stressful it is to worry about termites eating away at your new home this fall in New Orleans — warm, wet weather drives activity and delays can mean costly structural damage. Kid & Pet Friendly
LaJaunie's Termite Pretreatment creates a verified horizontal barrier beneath the foundation—blue dye marks the application so building inspectors can confirm correct placement—to stop termites before your home is finished. Because the treatment is applied pre-construction under the slab, it leaves no harsh residues on play areas or pet-feeding spots and is gentle on children and pets as you prep for backyard play this fall.
