Spotting Earwig Activity This Fall
Earwigs hide in damp crevices during the day. We inspect foundations to stop them from entering.
Common indicators that earwigs have entered your home include:
- Spotting live, dark brown, flattened earwigs curled in bathtub corners, bathroom drains, laundry-room floor drains, or under outdoor potted plants at dusk or dawn.
- Finding irregular notches and ragged chewing on potted-plant leaves, seedlings, or interior houseplants placed near foundation-facing windows.
- Noticing discarded molted skins tucked beneath stacked patio furniture, inside garden pots, or under exterior door thresholds.
- Discovering a brief, sharp pinch when handling debris or an individual in the garage or utility room (cerci contact), indicating active specimens in the area.
- Hearing soft rustling or movement in damp mulch, leaf litter, or cardboard storage at night along the home’s foundation.
We treat your yard and seal cracks to stop earwigs, making sure your home stays totally pest-free.
Exterior perimeter treatment
Your home is protected from earwigs by LaJaunie's perimeter service using a 5‑ft granular bait band at the foundation. The granular band intercepts earwig migration and treats harborage in cracks, eaves, doors and shrubs. Barrier covers base, doors, windows and shrubs within 5 ft with quarterly perimeter renewals.
You get fewer earwigs showing up around doors, windows, and living spaces. Earwig control is included in the recurring plan, and every service comes with a re-treat guarantee.
How our technicians inspect and treat for earwigs
-
How we work
Our earwig control process begins when our local pest experts conduct a detailed inspection, focusing on the damp areas these pests love during a Louisiana fall, such as along the foundation and under mulch beds.
For effective pest removal, we then apply a targeted treatment; for example, we create a protective barrier by applying a granular bait five feet out from your home and treating access points like windows and doors.
This complete pest management approach is designed for lasting prevention, ensuring these pests are gone for good so you can feel comfortable in your home again.
